Locks and Dams
This section of the river is controlled by several locks and dams, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Specifically, the following dams are located on this section of river:
- The Maxwell Dam, located at Mile 61, between Brownsville and Fredericktown.
- The Grey’s Landing Dam, located at Mile 80, between Greensboro and Rices Landing.
- The Point Marion Dam, located at Mile 90.8, between Point Marion and the WV border.
