How will YOU celebrate Earth Day?

Earth Day is celebrated annually in the U.S. on April 22nd. In the Mon River Towns, there are several events planned in April to commemorate the day and to clean up our towns for the spring and summer. Considering coming to one of these event to lend a hand:

  • Greensboro Earth Day Community Clean Up, April 20th from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Meet at the Fire Hall. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. For more information, contact the Borough Office.
  • Point Marion Park Clean-up, April 20th from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Point Marion Community Park
  • East Bethlehem Township Boy Scouts Clean Up Day, April 20th from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., meet at the Fredericktown American Legion. Live music and refreshments follow the clean up from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
  • Electronics Recycling Collection, April 20th all day, “The Old Greensboro School” at 404 Second Street. Residents of all River Towns and the surrounding area are invited to a free electronics recycling event. Materials to be collected include Telephones/Cell Phones; Televisions; Cardboard Dehumidifiers; Keyboards & Mice; Floor Copiers; Cables & Cords; Washers & Dryers; Stereos & Speakers; Dishwashers; Printers & Fax Machines; Stoves & Refrigerators; DVD Players, VCRs & Game Systems; Air Conditioners; Desktop/Laptop Computers; Floor Freezers; LCD and CRT Monitors; Word Processors; Misc Electronics;
    Non PCB Ballast; and Hard Drives. For more information, contact the Borough office (724) 943-3612.
  • Earth Day Community Clean Up, April 22nd 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. California; followed by the “Clean Community Celebration” at Jozart from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
  • Point Marion Park Clean-up, April 27th 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
